About the event

Lady Roslyn Morauta, the Vice-Chair of the Board of the Global Fund, will discuss the impact of the COVID 19 on the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, and how the organisation is using its experience working with partners and governments to support a response on a massive worldwide scale. The Global Fund is a partnership designed to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics. As an international organisation, it mobilises and invests more than $US4 billion a year to support programs run by local experts in more than 100 countries. Since 2002, the Global Fund partnership has saved 38 million lives and provided prevention, treatment and care services to hundreds of millions of people, helping to revitalise entire communities, strengthen local health systems and improve economies. This progress though is being threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic, which is having a catastrophic impact on the most vulnerable communities around the world.
