ABARES WA Agricultural Outlook Conference

Agricultural outlook conference coming to WA Central Wheatbelt

Embracing technology and innovation and adapting to future trends will be key topics of discussion at a free agriculture conference being held in Narrogin in Western Australia’s Central Wheatbelt on 28 August.

The Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES) Narrogin Regional Outlook conference will hear from local producers as well as ABARES economists and a number of other experts.

ABARES Chief Commodity Analyst and conference speaker, Peter Gooday, said the one-day conference is a valuable event for those working in agricultural and associated industries in WA’s Central Wheatbelt.

“Through the ABARES Regional Outlook conferences we are providing a regional opportunity to discuss the latest agricultural economic trends and hear commodity updates and learn more about innovation in the agriculture sector,” Mr Gooday said.

“This regional conference—following the national Outlook conference and regional conferences in Casino and Rockhampton—will examine the key issues under the umbrella of Creating value in an increasingly connected world; Technology: changing the way we do agriculture and Farming the Central Wheatbelt in a changing environment.”

The conference will be officially opened by the Member for O’Connor, Rick Wilson MP.

“Attending the conference is a great way for delegates to build on their industry knowledge and network with colleagues from businesses across the region,” Mr Gooday said.

There is no registration fee to attend, however pre-conference registration is essential.
