In this webinar, McCullough Robertson will discuss some of the current employment, insolvency and contract issues faced by life sciences organisations as a result of COVID-19. Our guest speakers include:

Lydia Daly, a specialist in employment and industrial relations and Special Counsel, Employment Relations & Safety at McCullough Robertson. Lydia has 13+ years’ senior government experience and 8+ years of private practice experience. Lydia will discuss the following issues followed by Q&A:

  • impact of COVID-19 in the workplace;
  • government measures generally in response to the pandemic; and
  • key considerations in terms of WHS and workforce changes.

Ann Watson, a dispute resolution lawyer with a particular focus on restructuring and insolvency, corporate workouts and banking and debt recovery. Ann provides advice to companies and their directors on restructuring and insolvency matters and also advises administrators, liquidators, receivers, trustees in bankruptcy and financiers. Ann will consider:

  • the changes in the insolvency system as a result of COVID-19;
  • the relief available; and
  • the steps all stakeholders can take to protect themselves in this environment.

Jake Grant, a Special Counsel in McCullough Robertson’s Intellectual Property and Technology group. Jake has a background in in-house and private practice and has been supporting clients in the technology and life sciences industries sector on intellectual property, technology and commercial transactions for over 15 years. Jake will cover:

  • key contractual issues we have been advising clients on as a result of COVID-19 (frustration and force majeure);
  • relevant provisions under Australian Consumer Law; and
  • practical considerations when providing concessions on performance.
