Webinar two

What to do once the client loses capacity

Drafting documents to plan for the day a client loses capacity is important, but what happens when that day comes and we get a call from a family member asking what to do next?

In this webinar, Scott and Sarah will examine how incapacity affects clients and their trusts, business structures and superannuation funds. They will look at:

  • identifying who your client is – how EPOAs work in practice and what to do when family members start giving instructions
  • how and when to update control of structures, and what to do if there are compliance issues for SMSFs
  • what advisers need to consider before accepting an appointment as attorney – remuneration, insurance and risk
  • common issues where the documents aren’t drafted properly, and the keys to the kingdom are given to the wrong person.

This year, Scott Hay-Bartlem, Rebecca Edwards, Sarah Camm and Francesca da Silva, are tackling everyday issues faced by executors, trustees and their advisers – issues that are causing real disputes in cases they are currently handling.

You can register for the above webinar, or for all four at a discounted rate of $600.

Our four interactive webinars will cover the following topics:

  1. estate planning when there are incapacity issues - Recording available
  2. what to do once your client loses capacity
  3. binding death benefit nominations
  4. capacity conundrums and your ageing clients.

The webinars will be recorded, with a link to the recording circulated to all registrants afterwards.

We hope you are able to join us.
