Shocks to the system: A global supply chain outlook

Has the Covid pandemic heralded a new era of regularly disrupted supply chains?

Russia’s February invasion of Ukraine only exacerbated the pandemic shocks, as the prices of oil and gas soared across the world and March lockdowns across Shenzhen and Shanghai raised fears of major disruptions from China’s largest ports.

It’s become increasingly clear that organisations must transform to new operating models that are responsive to demand and resilient to shocks. Underpinning this transformation is a need for significant digital business investment.

Long term disruptors such as climate change, material shortages and labour (and skills) scarcity require a new mode of thinking. Modern supply chains must be customer-centric, demand-driven and automated. They must be personalized and service segments of one, not markets of millions. Overlaying all of this are evolving ESG expectations of consumers, shareholders boards and employees.

Join CEDA's Chief Economist Jarrod Ball and senior industry leaders for this livestream as we unpack the data and deliver an outlook on global supply chains.
