You are warmly invited to attend the Northern Business Achievement Awards taking place on 1 June 2023 at Uni Hill Conference Centre.The City of Darebin and Merri-bek City Council will each nominate and recognise the achievements of two businesses and a Young Business Achiever from their municipality.
Women in Leadership: Technology.
Women across Melbourne's north are leading the way in ground-breaking technological innovation. Presenters at this month's NBAA lead in fields including medical access, advanced manufacturing, technological integration and food development.Increasingly young women are being encouraged and participating in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) areas as early as kindergarten. The growing importance placed on STEM, technology, online connectivity and scientific thinking underpins the work of all the women we present at this event.Hear from Dr Loren Sher and a panel of business nominees and inspirational women who are leading the way in innovation in these fields.
 
GUEST SPEAKERDr Loren Sher, Clinical Director - Victoria's Virtual Emergency Department @ Northern Health, Epping.

Dr Loren Sher is an Emergency specialist and Director of the new Victorian Virtual ED. She studied a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand, Braamfontein (South Africa), from 1997 to 2002. In 2012 Loren studied Paediatric Emergency Medicine at the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine in Melbourne. In Loren's previous role, she was the Director of the Northern Hospital's Paediatric Emergency Department. Loren's other career highlights include the development of a Paediatric HIV clinic in South Africa and the development of the Paediatric Emergency Department at The Northern Hospital.

Loren constantly seeks opportunities to deliver equitable, safe, and gold-standard care, particularly for vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. Loren's recent medical adventures include exploring and creating efficiencies through the marriage of technology and medicine. Loren is enrolled in a PhD through La Trobe University, researching digital solutions in Emergency Departments.

Dr Santosh Kaur, Founder & CEO of SmartHeal. SmartHeal was born out of the love for wound healing and frustration with the simple management of them by not only the patient but the connection of healthcare provider to patient.

Ms Shekila Ramalingam, General Manager Business - Channel Expansion, nbn co. Shekila oversees the national implementation of channel expansion, ensuring the network is expanding and remaining relevant to business and end users.

Ms Erika Hughes, Commercial Director, Integra Systems. Integra Systems was established in 1991 and offers low-volume, high-variability excellence in sheet metal product design, project management and advanced manufacturing using Industry 4.0 practices.
