Advisory Boards - Who Needs Them?

With markets, technology, competition and the digital economy constantly changing, the only known constant is change with varied risks and opportunities.

Whether a business is a start-up, well-established, underperforming or in distress, the CEO, business owner and even a formal Board of Directors need access to expertise and independent thinking to thrive or even survive. One way to develop and implement a plan or alternatives is to set up a Board of Advisors appropriate to the challenge.

This presentation will focus on the formation of a Board of Advisors covering who, when and how and challenge some of the myths. If you want to learn how to maximise the benefits of setting up a Board of Advisors and some pragmatic dos and don’ts, then these experienced-based insights will guide you in the right direction.

Keith Bailey is a Fellow of the AIEA, Australian Institute of Company Directors and Governance Institute of Australia.

Keith is an active Board Advisor and a Strategy and Change Specialist and works with Boards of Directors and with specialist Board of Advisors. This experience has included start-ups, acquisitions, turnarounds and underperforming businesses in a variety of industries.Unique Board Advisory experience has been developed working with private and family businesses adapting to change.

Keith’s career has progressed from tradesman, engineer, commercial, and general management to Boards and Directorship, and draws from these integrated experiences and disciplines in supporting and developing peers and clients, and mentoring Executives and Directors.

The hot breakfast will be served at 7:15am in Room A2 on the Arbour Level. The presentation will commence at 7:45 am.
