Shayne Elliott
Chief Executive Officer

Shayne Elliott was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) on 1 January 2016.

Shayne joined ANZ as CEO Institutional in June 2009 and in 2012 was appointed Chief Financial Officer. In this role he was responsible for all aspects of Finance as well as Group strategy, Legal, Treasury, Investor Relations and Mergers and Acquisitions.

Shayne has more than 30 years’ experience in international banking including in Australia, New Zealand, USA, UK, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Prior to ANZ, Shayne held senior executive roles at EFG Hermes primarily as Chief Operating Officer covering Technology, Risk, Marketing, Operations and HR.

Prior to joining Rowland, Shane Rodgerswas the National Chief Operating Officer for Australian Industry Group (Ai Group). Ai Group is a peak national employer association for Australian industry, linking members to the insights, services and expertise they need to be successful. Shane was previously the Queensland Head of Ai Group and has also been the COO of Brisbane’s Economic Development Agency and General Manager of Queensland Newspapers. His media roles have included Queensland Editor and Manager of The Australian, National Editorial Director of APN Regional Media, Editor-in-Chief of Quest Newspapers and Deputy Editor, News Editor and Chief of Staff of The Courier Mail.
