Brisbane Convention Bureau comes to you online PDF  | Print |  Email

The Brisbane Convention Bureau has launched a new online direct-mail campaign to boost Brisbane's profile in the national business events market and encourage decision-makers to experience the city.

The Make Brisbane Yours campaign - to be executed over the next four weeks - will see familiarisation invitations delivered straight to the inboxes of more than 4,500 business event organisers across the country.

At the heart of the campaign is the new micro-site www.makebrisbaneyours.com.au which features a short selection of Brisbane products on offer and a new podcast delivering a snapshot vision of the Brisbane familiarisation experience. makebneyours_screencapt.png

Brisbane Marketing director of business events, Annabel Sullivan, said the bureau's foray into digital marketing was already proving to yield excellent results.

"Within one day of launching the campaign to the first round of 1,000 contacts we recorded a 25 percent click-through rate and more than 250 unique visitors to the micro-site and 50 famil registrations," said Ms Sullivan.

"This is already proving to be an above-average result and great new way for us to connect with potential clients and showcase Brisbane's offer."

Ms Sullivan said the bureau was extremely proud of its familiarisation program - called ‘famils' in the travel industry.

"We work with a range of Team Brisbane partners to pull together great itineraries and experiences that consistently generate positive feedback from participants," she said.

"In 2007-08 the Brisbane Convention Bureau hosted more than 215 clients from 180 different organisations on site inspections and familiarisations."

Post famil feedback spanning the last financial year showed Brisbane famil participants enjoyed an average overall famil satisfaction rating of 9.2 out of 10 and an average rating of 9.5 out of 10 for the Bureau's organisation of the familiarisation.
