Boardroom Breakfast: "How to become a Media Savvy Small Business!" Print
Tuesday, 16 March 2010, 7:00am - 9:00am

With Guest Speaker Peter Buckley

Limited to 12 people only

Media Skills - Your Mouth, Your Say, Your Result
We’ve all heard marketing experts advise us that the media can provide free advertising and marketing for our business and what a valuable resource they are.

But..... what happens when you get that phone call from the local newspaper, the Courier Mail journalist or Today Tonight wanting to do a feature on your business? How you present in the interview will directly reflect the result you get from this activity. They can leave you mauled or in a state of delight....... The media is a strange animal!

Peter Buckley will show you how to direct the interview in the direction you want it to go, how to control your nerves and get the most out of the process, whether it’s a newspaper, radio or television article.

As the former News Director for FM104/MMM and Assistant News Director for B105FM Brisbane, Peter Buckley has witnessed, and been part of, news scenarios that have produced good, bad and, occasionally, ugly results.

Peter’s presentation will: terricooper_web_logo.jpg
• Help you better understand the media
• Give you tips on dealing with a media pack
• Identify ways to have the media working for your benefit
• Improve or establish a media relationship
• Give you interview techniques and processes to control your nerves

With 24 years on-air experience in the media, Peter brings solid information and plenty of anecdotes, examples and laughs from an exciting industry.

When your time comes to pat the media animal will you be one who finishes with teeth marks and wounds, or embraced and massaged into that state of delight??
