Leader of the Opposition Tony Abbott will deliver his first major address to Queensland business and will share his direction for the Federal Coalition leading into an election year at a Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCIQ) event on Friday 12 February.
CCIQ CEO Steve Murray said the event was a wonderful opportunity for businesses to hear first hand Mr Abbott’s vision for Australian politics.
“Queensland businesses are looking to our politicians for genuine vision and policies which focus on a stronger economy,” Mr Murray said.
“Strong economic leadership will be vital coming off the back of the Global Financial Crisis.
“Leading up the next Federal election this year, it is important for business to be aware of each party’s policies so they can determine which party can deliver the best outcomes for business.
"Mr Abbott will share his position on a number of issues that will form the cornerstone of the Coalition’s platform heading into the election.
Mr Murray said the event is an important means of CCIQ’s fulfilling its role in facilitating and promoting discussion on important issues facing the Australian economy.
“CCIQ will continue to present opportunities for party leaders to address Queensland business over the coming months. “
