Southbank Institute of Technology is back to business following the Brisbane floods and is preparing for the new start of Semester One on February 7, 2011.
Institute Director and CEO Craig Sherrin, said that while some areas of the Southbank
Institute campus were affected by flood waters, the Institute has been working to quickly restore services to the impacted areas.
"I can assure you that Southbank Institute is full-steam ahead and taking enrolments for 2011. We already have some classes in full-swing, while the official start of Semester One will now be Monday 7 February," Mr Sherrin said.
"We are contacting new and existing students to provide information about any changes to their enrolment, orientations and study start dates. Students are also urged to visit the Southbank Institute website HUwww.southbank.edu.au for regular updates and for full details.
"Southbank Institute spans a large campus in South Brisbane and while we may have
some classrooms out of action, the disruption to our staff and students will be minimal.
"Our deepest regards and support go to those affected by the flood, including our staff members, students and business partners across Brisbane and Queensland," Mr Sherrin said.
Staff and students are encouraged to use public transport (www.translink.com.au) to
travel to and from Southbank Institute where possible, with both the South Bank Railway Station and South Bank Busway services operating as normal.
Anyone wishing to enrol in courses at Southbank Institute of Technology can call the
Student Service Centre on 13 72 48 or visit southbank.edu.au
