Pitch Club - calling all entrepreneurs! PDF  | Print |  Email

Ten Queensland entrepreneurs will be pitching their ideas to a crowd of investors, business angels, VCs and other entrepreneur enthusiasts from a miniature boxing ring when Pitch Club makes its debut in Brisbane on Thursday 26th March 2009.

Pitch Club is a fun, fast and furious networking event like no other and is holding its inaugural event in Brisbane on March 26th.
Pitch Club is a fun, fast and furious networking event like no other and is holding its inaugural event in Brisbane on March 26th.

Pitch Club provides an opportunity for nine ventures (and one drawn on the night) to ‘step into the ring’ and 'pitch' their idea for 90 seconds. The audience of potential investors and other interested parties decide who makes it to the final round, where finalists have the opportunity to interact for another five minutes with the audience through their pitch and a Q&A.

The entrepreneurs in the ring also have the opportunity to ask for other types of assistance they may need to start or grow their business – whether it is strategic advice, mentoring services or other resources.

Pitch Club brings together people interested in matters related to entrepreneurship, new business creation and growth and provides an energising, exclusive and – most importantly – spontaneous environment for them to interact, showcase ideas and promote business endeavours.

If this sounds like you, Pitch Club is calling for entrepreneurs to be among the first group to pitch to the Queensland public.  Pitchers will be trained and mentored to fine tune their pitch before the big night.  Expressions of interest can be made at www.pitchclub.com.

“Australia is well behind the rest of the world in terms of investment as a realistic source of funds for starting and growing private businesses.  Current investor networks in Australia lack a credible, accessible and professional environment for aspiring entrepreneurs to ‘pitch’ their business concept to potential investors,” said Peter Christo, entrepreneurial coach, RMIT lecturer and co-founder of Pitch Club.  “Pitch Club aims to address this issue,” he continued.

“We are delighted to bring Pitch Club to Brisbane to benefit the local entrepreneurs, business people and investors”, said Justin Brow from 60Sox.  “Pitch Club offers something new and unique and will provide valuable connections for local entrepreneurs”.

Pitch Club is not a spectator sport.
