Nokia is inviting would-be entrepreneurs from across Australia to submit their business idea for a chance to win $10,000 and a Nokia E7 smartphone, plus receive coaching and advice from Jaimie Fuller, CEO of global sportswear clothing company SKINS.
The competition was launched in conjunction with In Hindsight, an online book that looks at the achievements of seven Aussie entrepreneurs.
Nokia Australia's managing director, Chris Carr, said, "We want to see ideas that buck a trend or are standout. You may have an existing business and need a hand getting it to the next stage or perhaps have had an idea and need help getting if off the ground. Either way, you need to put together a well-thought-through pitch and answer some fundamental questions on why you think there is a need for your product or service and how you could benefit from the money and mentoring."
Entries can be submitted at nokia.com.au/inhindsight. Nokia will choose the top five finalists and each will be invited to present their idea to a panel of judges that includes Chris Carr, managing director Nokia; Jaimie Fuller, CEO of SKINS and Suzi Dafnis, director of the Australian Businesswomen's Network and panelist on the hit TV show Dragon's Den.
Videos of the finalists' presentations will be posted on Nokia Australia's Facebook page - Facebook.com/nokiaaustralia - and the public can vote for their favourite.
The overall winner will be determined by the judges and through the public voting tab on Facebook.com/nokiaaustralia.
Competition closes on the 14th August 2011.
