Brisbane company Systar has just returned from the 2011 National iAwards, where they were being judged across a tough field in the Sustainability and Green IT category.
The iAwards honour companies at the cutting edge of technology innovation as well as the leading professionals across the industry. Most importantly, the iAwards honour the achievements of home-grown Australian innovators.
Systar won at the State level for the iSystain product and went forth to the national judging conducted last week. The 2011 iAwards saw the largest field of competitors in the 17 year history of the awards, with winners being announced in four individual categories. iSystain was announced as a runner up in their national category. iSystain is a 'cloud' based suite of management systems design to implement sustainable development practices. iSystain is one of the few systems globally that can be plugged into a variety of industries and business types and offers a an extremely flexible toolbox or framework to manage sustainable development.
At a tough time in business when identifying and reducing risks is of paramount importance and addressing non-compliance is a life saver, iSystain has bundled each of these core areas into an online system that also provides a comprehensive business improvement analysis.
“The Awards are a culmination of many years of hard work for us,” explained company director Jenni Mulligan. “We were extremely honoured to be judged amongst other leaders such as the CSIRO, Suncorp and Santos.”
The goal of the iAwards program is to provide external stakeholders from business, industry and government with a clear view of the people leading ICT in Australia and the quality of innovation being produced. Each nominee is rigorously assessed by a team of judges of the highest calibre. They are drawn from government, academia and the industry.
Winning an iAward can provide a major launch pad for forward company success.
“The iAward will have a genuine and measurable impact on our business,” Systar director Don Smy said. “For any business, this level of industry recognition and third party endorsement is gold and we look forward not only to the exposure the award will bring our product, but also the ICT capability of Australians at large.”
