A free seminar, which will help companies and individuals wanting to expand their businesses into Singapore or China, is being staged in Sydney on Thursday September 30 by one of Australia's leading Chartered Accountancy firms, Nexia Court & Co. Nexia Court & Co's Managing Partner, Ian Stone says it is important to do some homework and arm yourself with as much information as possible before disturbing the sleeping giant.

The "Doing Business In China and Singapore" seminar will cover a range of topics designed to educate attendees, including information about cultural sensitivities, operational requirements, laws and business structures in China and Singapore.

"Setting up a new business is fraught with challenges, especially if you're doing it in a country that's new to you, so it is really important to understand the basics," said Ian.

"This seminar will provide an overview on what you need to know to identify and maximise the many opportunities China and Singapore have to offer."

Topics covered at the seminar include:

•·         China & Singapore Tax System Overview

•·         Summary of alternative business structures and treatment for tax purposes

•·         Repatriation of profits from China to Australia

•·         Pitfalls to avoid when investing in China

•·         Tax issues and latest developments in China

•·         Australian tax issues for investment overseas
