Buyers secure $4.5m in apartments at Axis PDF  | Print |  Email

Buyers have secured more than $4.5 million of apartments off-the-plan in Axis at Upper Mount Gravatt (Brisbane) in just four weeks.

The $40 million development has attracted interest from owner-occupiers and investors looking to secure their position in the Mount Gravatt growth corridor.

Axis will feature 101 one, one plus study and two bedroom apartments, across eight levels, with construction expected to commence in the second half of 2011.

The project, situated in a prime location on Norton Street, is being developed by Norton Street Investments, a private group of investors, with PCN Projects acting as development co-ordinator.  It is being marketed by Coldwell Banker Australasian Property Alliance.

Coldwell Banker Australasian Property Alliance principal Rob Hunt said Axis had attracted purchasers wanting to take advantage of the future urban renewal of Mount Gravatt and secure a prime position in Brisbane's sought-after south eastern suburbs.

"Brisbane City Council has identified the Mount Gravatt corridor as a major residential, employment, shopping and service node for the city's southern suburbs," he said.

"As such, it is set to undergo significant growth in coming years on the back of public and private investment, and buyers are keen to get in now to take advantage of the future expansion and development of the area."

Mr Hunt said 10 apartments had already sold in the project, averaging $450,000.

"Axis has attracted strong interest since its launch, particularly from buyers in the surrounding region," he said.

"The project offers relatively affordable apartments, with prices starting from $300,000, and a location in an area that is not only earmarked for future growth, but already offers a great mix of amenities - from shopping and business precincts to hospitals and universities."

PCN director Dr Solly Preller said Axis had been designed by award-winning architects Cottee Parker to deliver affordable and liveable apartments.

"The focus has been on creating a modern, low maintenance design to suit today's busy lifestyles, but with open plan living and balconies to take in the views across Mount Gravatt," he said.

"Everything residents could need is in easy reach, with Westfield Garden City Shopping Centre, cinemas, supermarkets, retailers, cafes and takeaways all just around the corner.

"The project is also located about 10 kilometres from the Brisbane city centre and in easy reach of major arterial roads, the M1 and Gateway Motorway, making it easy to commute to work and get around the city."

The apartments range in size from 61sqm to 120sqm, with quality appliances, fittings and finishes, and offer north or south aspects.

Axis will also feature a roof top recreation area, with barbeques and seating, where residents can relax and take in the views, together with secure underground carparking.
