BRISBANE’S PREMIER FITNESS CENTRES UNVEIL NEW LOOK, NEW OWNER PDF  | Print |  Email

For most people, exercising is one of those activities that we all know we should do, but often lack the inspiration to get on board. But for Brisbane’s fitness fanatics and the unmotivated alike, a change in ownership to the city’s premier fitness centres could be the solution to that dilemma.

Bodywize has been a forerunner in Brisbane’s health & fitness market for many reasons . . . a healthy breakfast for members, towel service, the innovative Technogym Wellness System, not to mention the Japanese bath house concept Day Spa. With three facilities, located in Teneriffe, Paddington and Portside, the holistic blend of fitness, wellness and relaxation elements was what attracted new owner, Grant Gamble to the group.

“Our members have already seen a myriad of changes at the Centres. The Bath House has been refurbished and we’re excited to bring a new image to it under the banner of Stella Day Spa,” enthused Gamble.

“The gyms themselves have also had a facelift, from simple things like re-arranging the equipment to provide a more logical flow for the members, new plasma screens for entertainment, through to a new Kidz Club at Teneriffe

“I think our current members are, and our new members will be really pleased with the changes we’re making. I do think the cosmetic changes are truly overshadowed by the shift in focus to the member . . . through member feedback, team training, and a ‘healthy’ business philosophy I believe our passion for fitness and wellbeing truly gains traction.”

Gamble spent 11 years on the East Coast of the United States developing one of the leading fitness and wellness brands in the US, ACAC Fitness and Wellness Centers. He brings 27 years experience in the fitness and wellness arena to the Bodywize brand and will continue to expand the wellness concept on which Bodywize was established.

“It’s great to be back in Brisbane,” explains Gamble. “I left Brisbane for the States some 12 years ago and am delighted to return to the market to hopefully help close the gap between what people know they need to do, and what they’re actually committed to . . . fitness and wellness is the ‘magic pill’ for those that find themselves challenged by weight gain, energy loss, and a myriad of other ailments that besot our society. We have overtaken the US in the obesity stakes and my hope is that Bodywize can be part of the answer for this ‘New World City’.”
