Brisbane, Australia's new world city, is out to impress at AIME 2011 with 17 business events operators joining Brisbane Marketing's Convention Bureau under the banner of Team Brisbane.
Ms Annabel Sullivan, Director, Convention Bureau said she was excited about the great mix of partners that will form Team Brisbane. The collaboration and resilience that the business events industry in Brisbane has displayed over the past weeks will bring a renewed energy to AIME.
"The challenges Brisbane has recently experienced have only strengthened the determination of local business event operators to deliver world-class events. Our enthusiasm typifies Brisbane's positive outlook, can-do attitude and ability to deliver great results - under any circumstances," said Ms Sullivan.
"Many business destinations offer a promise of collaboration - but Brisbane is a city that lives it," she said.
"Team Brisbane includes industry partners such as the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Sofitel Brisbane Central and Brisbane Marriott Hotel, as well as Team Brisbane first-timers to AIME, Ipswich City Council and Rydges South Bank.
A true testament to the resilience of the business events industry is the commitment of the Stamford Plaza, the Queensland Art Gallery and GoMA to attend AIME. The disruptions they have experienced over the past few weeks, has not discouraged them from focussing on future business events for Brisbane.
"At AIME, Team Brisbane's message will be clear: Brisbane is back to business and, like never before, the industry encourages conference organisers and clients to hold their business event in Brisbane," she said.
The introduction of Team Brisbane for AIME 2011 follows the recent release of a short video by Brisbane's Lord Mayor, Campbell Newman to tell the story that Brisbane is back to business which you can view at: http://www.youtube.com/brisbanemarketingtv#p/u/1/b2xKpLPu4U8
Ms Sullivan said AIME is also an ideal opportunity for Brisbane Marketing staff to meet face-to-face with clients and to provide the latest news on Brisbane and how the Convention Bureau can help with planning every stage of their next event.
