BRISBANE ICT HYPOTHETICAL SERIES
2008 saw the launch of the Brisbane ICT Hypothetical Series. A joint initiative between Invest Brisbane and Longhaus, the series provides a platform to explore those issues facing industries that are both current and generating a mixture of both excitement and confusion.
The series brings together some of the best and brightest leaders in ICT to examine the implications of cutting edge topics in a hypothetical setting.
2009 AND BEYOND
The market for business investment continues to be highly competitive with an increasing number of emerging markets with lower cost bases.
The downturn in the global economy and fluctuations in the value of the Australian dollar also adds pressure to the business investment environment.
In the year ahead, Invest Brisbane will continue to target new markets, differentiate its investment offering and work closely with key partner Australia TradeCoast.
A major 2009 project is the Brisbane Economic Annual, which will be the definitive authority on Brisbane’s standing as a global business destination. The Annual will provide an overview of the Brisbane business climate for the past year, and determine Brisbane’s competitive position against other cities.
Together with our valued corporate partners and Brisbane business, Invest Brisbane looks forward to 2009 and the challenges and successes it will bring. ◊
