Australian Technology Showcase members that flew the flag for Queensland at Enviro 08 were:

EcoNova, Nambour.

EcoNova’s NovaClear system recycles household wastewater. Grey or black water is filtered through tiny pores in membranes, which act as a physical barrier to bacteria and other contaminants. It is the first domestic system certified for above ground irrigation without the need for further disinfection, such as chlorine or UV.

Environdata Australia, Warwick.

The firm’s WeatherMaster 2000 technology is a solar powered weather station which tracks things like rainfall, wind direction, wind speed, temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. Environdata’s technology also includes software to collate weather data, and digital sensors.

Coolshield International, Gold Coast.

Coolshied’s Solacoat is an insulating paint for roofs/walls to reduce solar heat entering buildings and the need for air conditioning. It slashes heat penetration by up to 90 percent, and it is also being used by the rural sector on sheds and storage facilities.

Environmental and Energy Technologies, Bundaberg.

The second generation model of the firm’s flagship Mixaerator technology was recently launched. Enclosed in irrigation pipes on farms, the Oxysolver Multi-Tasker mixes and aerates water – making it clean and safe for reuse – and doses and distributes fertiliser on to crops.

Biolytix Water, Maleny.

The Biolytix System converts sewage and wastewater into clean irrigation water using organisms in soil. It has the lowest energy consumption of any biological waste treatment system – using 90 percent less energy than traditional models – and is one of the most compact systems of its type in the world.

Indigo Technologies, Milton.

The Indigo Agglomerator and Indigo Multiple Air Pollutant System (MAPS) removes toxic fine particles and other harmful pollutants from the emissions from power stations, paper pulp mills, cement and steel plants as well as industrial chimney stacks.

Synengco, Brisbane.

SentientMonitor tracks greenhouse gas emissions. Its functions include generating compliance reports and issuing alerts on potential problems.

Synforce, Hervey Bay.

Using special methods and formulas, the firm produces automotive lubricants and fluids as well as industrial chemicals.
